Heidelberg Energy Control: no QR code payment possible

The Heidelberg Energy Control charges at up to 11 kW and only has a Modbus interface for the home installation, with no Wi-Fi, LAN or OCPP. It can only be released with an external switch on site. Heidelberg wallboxes are now sold as Amperfied, and the connect.home and connect.business models speak OCPP 1.6.

Why paying with the Heidelberg Energy Control does not work

For guests to pay fairly, Ladehase must be able to lock the charging station and release it only after payment. The Heidelberg Energy Control lacks:

  • A network connection: the charging station is not connected to the internet.
  • OCPP, the open protocol Ladehase uses to control most charging stations.
  • An open manufacturer interface that lets third parties release charges.
  • A lock until authorisation that can be set remotely.
