What electricity price should I charge guests?

There is no fixed price. Here is how to arrive at a fair tariff that covers your costs.

Start with your own price
Your electricity bill shows what you pay per kWh for energy, grid use and levies combined. The price depends on your municipality and grid operator and usually changes once a year.
Add a margin
Add an amount for charging losses, payment fees and the depreciation of your wallbox. For example, if you pay 30 centimes per kWh and add 10 to 15 centimes, you end up at 40 to 45 centimes per kWh.
Solar is cheaper during the day
With a solar system, power from your roof costs you what the grid operator would pay you for feeding it in. With time windows in the tariff, you charge less during the day than in the evening.
Use idle fees deliberately
An idle fee keeps charge points free when several people want to charge. At home or overnight in a hotel, you leave it out with quiet hours.
Remember VAT
If you are VAT-registered, your prices include VAT. Ladehase shows the VAT share on every receipt.
Stay transparent
Guests see the full tariff before paying, on the payment page and on the sign. A clear, round price per kWh builds trust.

The Federal Electricity Commission ElCom publishes the electricity tariffs of all Swiss municipalities.
